Germantown Community Theatre is proud to be continuing its summer youth theatre program.

All Children’s Theatre!  

A.C.T. is a summer theatre program for people under the age of 18 and is designed to provide opportunities for young actors, singers, dancers, and technicians.

Mark your calendars! Auditions for the 2008 ACT! Summer Series:

April 15th & April 17th from 6-8pm for HONK - Musical - Be prepared with 16 bars of a song and cold read from the script. Rehearsals begin early May show performs June 13& 14th.

May 10th; Possible invited callbacks May 11th at 1pm for WILEY. Be prepared to read from the script Rehearsals begin late June and performs weekend of August 1st

Fun In Theatre is GCT's Spring/Fall Saturday morning FIT classes and now our own Homeschool FIT classes on Thursdays. All acting classes are taught by some the area's best teaching artists! During the summer, it's time for FIT Summer Camps which offers a variety of full and half day programs. Whether you want to create your own Super Hero, blast off into outer space, or brush up your improvisational skills, these classes are the perfect FIT for the young actor in every family! Come out and play!

Theatre Explorers (Pre-k – 1stGrades)          April 5th – May 3rd
                                                                                                            Saturdays 9:30-11:30am
Explore the depths of the rainforest! Journey to the center of a volcano! Hold court in your own enormous castle! This class is perfect for the creative kid in your household. Students will use movement, voice and their imagination to explore the most exotic locations!

Treasure Trunk Theatre (2 nd-5th Grades)   April 5th – May 3rd
                                                                                                       Saturdays 12:00-2:00pm
Our trunk is overflowing with costumes, props, and all sorts of things to jump start your imagination. Each day is something different as we use the items inside the trunk to create fantastic new characters and amazing new stories!  Who knows what’s in store?!
 

Performance Creators  (Ages 10 +)            April 5th – May 3rd                                                                                                                              Saturdays 2:30-4:30pm
Inspiration can come from anywhere! A rock- a falling leaf- a painting- a song- or something you found on the internet. In this class students will find objects that inspire them and through improv, drawing, writing, movement and scene work they will work together to create a new and inventive theatrical piece.

FIT Drama Dawgs (ages 6-12)                                 June 16-20 (9:00 am – 4:00 pm)
What if animals ruled the world? What would they say? What would they do? Would they continue to be friendly to us humans?? Find you inner animal as we discover all the drama in the animal world!  We will act and sing and wag our tails to create entertaining and exciting scenarios for friends and family. A great introduction to the exciting art of theatre!

FIT Vacation Drama School (ages 7-14)                 June 23-27 (9:00am – 4:00 pm)
Summertime is here and we are all looking for ward to one thing! SUMMER VACATION! But we aren’t taking any measly road trips! Oh No! We are diving head first into the most exciting adventures from YOUR imagination. Join us on a trip of theatrical discovery! An African Safari maybe? A trip to the moon? It’s up to you and the possibilities are endless!

FIT! Summer Stock (ages 10 and up)                      July 7-11 (9:00 am – 4:00 pm)
What happens when a neighborhood farm gets invaded by a troupe of actors with theatre on their mind?? That’s right. Summer Stock! Join us as we act and sing and dance our way to the sound of classic musicals! Learn the roots of the American musical as we create our very own Summer Stock Theatre Troupe!

Lil’ FIT (Pre-K – 1st grade)                                      July 14-18 (9:00 am – 11:00 am)
A class created just for the littlest performer in your household. Focus that creativity here as students explore the world of theatre, creating silly scenes with nonsensical props and hilarious costumes.

Fairy Tale Trail

Every year Germantown Parks and Recreation presents the Festival of Fun and Fright.
As part of the festivities Germantown Community Theatre puts together a performance of a single fairy tale told through dialogue, lip synching and dance on a trail through the forest.

There are NO auditions and all are welcome to join the fun!!

After School Acting Adventures

GCT's After School Acting Adventures is a program to help reinforce what is taught in the classroom through theatre. Students will travel back in time to explore history, create new alien worlds, or even write their own play! GCT and its talented Teaching Artists will work with any school to create a program that fits your students' needs.
